Celiac Evaluation Profile

Celiac Panel

Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, spelt and some varieties of oats.

The autoimmune target for CD is the villi lining the intestinal tract, which is predominantly made of tissue transglutaminase-2 (tTG2).

Celiac patients are more sensitive to the deamidated gliadin (gluten) than to non-deamidated gliadin, thus deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) is the preferred biomarker for identifying possible CD.

Early detection and adherence to the gluten-free diet are vital, as patients with CD have greater incidences of co-autoimmune disorders, risk for cancer and elevated mortality rates.

A positive celiac result will come with a complimentary Gluten Free Diet, which lists common gluten-containing foods, sample meal options, reading food labels, and more.
